Thinking Spring

The month of April snuck up on us, and as always it’s a very unpredictable month. A warm day, followed by 5 inches of snow on the ground, followed by a freezing mix. The robins arrive, and they have to rethink their choice of coming back too soon.  The ice starts to break up in Little Traverse Bay, and the open water is a brilliant shade of blue. We are used to how April tricks us day after day…but the anticipation of what’s around the corner keeps us smiling.

The 2022 season in Bay Harbor is fast approaching and behind the scenes, we are busy making plans for the summer months ahead. We are celebrating our 20th Anniversary of the In-Water Boat Show, which is always the “kick-off” to the summer season, taking place over Father’s Day Weekend. The Bay Harbor Boat & Car Festival is returning the following weekend on June 25, which will be a new “spin” on a wonderful tradition. The very talented Petoskey Steel Drum Band will also be back performing before our fireworks show over Bay Harbor Lake on July 3. Bay Harbor Arts Festival is in its 22nd year, bringing the amazing artists from all over the country to our marina lawns on July 23 & 24. There will be a few other events sprinkled in to keep our season fun and lively in Bay Harbor.

Our Downtown Village will have a few additions as well for the season. It’s definitely going to be a fabulous one.  Let the countdown begin…
